THE HIKES

On Day 1 (Sunday), we will hike the Trombatore Trail to the beautiful Blue Ridge Pastures located near Fairview, NC. When starting at the official trailhead on Bearwallow Mountain Road, this hike is a moderate to strenuous 5 miles roundtrip. However, we will enter the trail directly from our property, which shortens the hike to an easy to moderate 2 miles roundtrip.

After the climb, we will take a moment to pause, breathe, and soak in the beauty. And don’t forget your journal, as your host will guide you into a mindful breathing and journaling practice to reflect on the journey, the landscape, and the deeper lessons nature offers.

This is a time to cultivate stillness, appreciation, and connection—within yourself and with the world around you.

On day 2 (Monday), you may choose to hike other trails on your own including Strawberry Gap Trail and Bearwallow Mountain Trail (pending reopening after damage from hurricane Helene), all located a short drive away. Or, you can do the long version of Trombatore Trail or re-hike the shorter version.

THE YOGA

After a rewarding hike, it’s time to give your body the deep rest and recovery it deserves. You’ll indulge in a deeply restorative yoga session to ease tired muscles, release tension, and promote flexibility with supported postures and mindful breathing.

We’ll conclude with a deeply relaxing Yoga Nidra (guided meditation), allowing you to fully reset and rejuvenate—leaving you feeling refreshed, grounded, and restored.

On the morning of DAY 2, for those that choose the overnight option will enjoy an energizing, yet grounding yoga class and guided meditation. This breath-centered class is suitable to all levels and combines classical Vinyasa and Hatha yoga principles. You will end the practice with a guided meditation and a sweet Savasana accompanied by natural forest sounds.

Our yoga practices will take place at the beautiful semi-open-air pavilion located right within the property.

THE COTTAGE

This Yoga Retreat will be hosted in a secluded, country-style property in Bearwallow Mountain where you’ll be surrounded by lush greens, poplar trees, and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

Those who choose the ONE-DAY option will enjoy the property grounds, hiking trails, and open-air pavilion where your yoga practice will take place.

Those who choose the OVERNIGHT OPTION will stay in the Bearwallow Cottage, located a short walk up the hill from the pavilion and grounds. You’ll enjoy added amenities such as the hot tub and covered porch to enjoy your morning coffee and breathtaking views.

Argentina is a seasoned, highly skilled professional yogi in every way. Her calm demeanor was so welcoming. She made sure that our experience was complete by providing all essentials necessary to perform yoga. There was always excellent food choices, snacks, beverages. The retreat was organized, clean, beautiful views. It allowed time to visit others and to renergize and relax. I will join her retreats in the future.

Panama Yoga Retreat 5 EDITED Scaled

I loved everything about the Spring Awakening Retreat in Panama with Brenda and Argentina—the varied, thoughtfully planned, and deep-digging yoga practices, the perfectly appointed Istmo Retreat Center, and most of all the sense of community instilled among the brilliant women on the retreat.

“The Spring Awakening Panama retreat was my first yoga retreat, and I couldn’t have picked a better one. The inclusive atmosphere, flexible schedule (lots of yoga, fun outings and activities, free time to rest, go to the beach, and relax), experience of a few different areas within Panama, and quickly-formed community of awesome yogis was an unforgettable experience. I loved the wide range of yoga classes (headstand workshop to vigorous flows, to yoga nidra and restorative), and the whole experience at Istmo retreat center was exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you, Brenda and Argentina, can’t wait for the next one!”

“I think that this retreat helped to deepen my personal relationship with yoga and I really appreciated that opportunity. I feel I was able to spend enough time by myself to relax and focus on my personal experience, while also getting to feel like I was surrounded by other wonderful yogis. I like the diversity of people who attended and that none were stereotypical yogis.”

YOUR HOST

Hey, I’m Argentina

I started practicing yoga and meditation when I was in high school. I was stressed, overwhelmed, and highly anxious due to the many changes that were happening in my life at the time.

I was a teenager back then, and yoga became my sanctuary. It changed the way I handled everything that was going on. It changed my life. I practiced at home because I was too anxious to go to a group class. And actually, when I practiced, I used to put up a sign on my bedroom door that said “do not disturb.” Geeky, I know. But that’s how serious I was. Now I’m a full-time instructor and coach with a mission to share this powerful, healing practice with as many people as I can.

Come join me!

Wait, you probably want to know about my qualifications and stuff. Right? So here you go.

I’m a 500-hour “Yoga Alliance-School” Certified teacher, and I’ve been teaching yoga and meditation for 7+ years. My “specialties” are breath-work, meditation, and Yoga Nidra to help students manage chronic anxiety and stress. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, and a Masters degree in Business Strategy and Leadership. Before I became a yoga teacher, I worked in the pharmaceutical industry where I helped manage clinical trials for new drug development.
